An interactive map of Manhattan using 3D printed landmarks, conductive plastic, capacitive touch sensor, java sketches, and a laser cut map of Manhattan. Each landmark has a java sketch assigned to it and when the conductive plastic near that area is touched it completes the circuit and pulls up the java sketch. The inspiration for this project was the instagram account "OverHeardNewYork" as this account took submissions of outlandish things heard around NYC and posts them. We used those quotes to accompany each 3D printed landmark as the user touches areas along the map.
